Introduction

This forum is an opportunity for us to consider an unprecedented future.

I have set out to share my contemplations about where we are and where we may go next in our creative ambitions to better govern ourselves.  I believe this is something many of us want and need.  If nothing less, it is important that we have conversations about the larger framework of our society and our world so that we may better understand what it is we are doing and where we are going.

The big question for all of us is, can we do better?  I believe we most definitely, with all positive affirmation, can find a way into a vastly better future.  And that way is not only ushered in by our positive intentions, but by our commitment to self-reflection, sanity, and scrutiny, by our understanding that finding a new way is met with a variety of unforeseen failures and blind spots.   Furthermore, committing to a better future means cultivating a positive receptivity to new information and new ideas, followed by exploration into how learning becomes wisdom that fits and functions in our everyday lives.  I hope you will approach my writing from that perspective, and that you will respond in a most authentic, constructive, and unreserved manner!
